Carson learned a new trick!

Carson learned how to put his fist in his mouth!!!
I am so proud! He thought it was so funny.

Here is a picture with his Diego backpack. He wanted to wear it all weekend.

Shea's Pre-School Graduation

My baby graduated from preschool. What next? At her graduation her teacher asked Shea what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a "Fairy". This is her holding a drawing of herself as a fairy.
I keep telling Shea that she has to stay home with mommy for Kindergarten. She asked me the other day "Mom, have you decided if I can go to Kindergarten yet?" I told her "Yes!" She is so excited to go.
Of course Shea wanted Grandma Richardson to teach her since she is a Kindergarten teacher. I told her that we couldn't drive all that way to Grandma's school.
Here is a picture of her when she started preschool in August. She looks so little.

She is such a smart little girl. We read "BOB books" at night and she is so excited that she can read them. Another milestone that Shea has reached is that she is sleeping in her own bed!!! YES! For almost five years she was in our room. Even when Carson was born she was in our bed. It was awful and wonderful at the same time. We love to snuggle together. Carson got kicked out before Shea.

Last year Shea got sick so we put a twin mattress by our bedside and that is where she had slept until recently. She has her own princess room but she still slept with us.
When we went to Aruba last year my parents slept over. She wanted to sleep with them by laying in the middle. Half way through the night she went down to her bed because Grandpa snored too loud!! Maybe that is what Matt and I should have done.

So about three weeks ago I was cleaning my room and decided enough was enough. I moved the mattress out and she is now in her bed. She still protests to go to bed and always wakes up about two to three hours into the night. But now Matt and I put her back into her room. (Okay it is just Matt. I pretend to be asleep!)
She has done so good. Last night she wanted me to snuggle with her in her bed. I had just gone running with some friends and told her I was too sweaty to do so. In her prayers she said, "And make my mom not be so sweaty so she can snuggle with me!" She doesn't miss a thing. Kids say the darndest things!

Insomnia

I get insomnia from time to time. Okay, let's say mostly all the time. My sisters also suffer from this. That is why I love to work at night. I hate to get up in the morning. Probably because I stay up too late! So I will take this opportunity to blog now that it is not in violation of anything. WHATEVER.

We finally put pictures on our living room wall. They were taken back in December by my good friend Jennifer who I have known for years.
She is an awesome photographer and I thank her for taking our family pictures this year. She also helped me put together my wall of pictures.
Thanks Jen! http://www.photojenic.net

On Saturday I slept because I worked Friday night. Matt took Carson to the gym and Shea went with my Mom to see her cousin's dance recital. Shea loved going and she loves spending time with them. Of course my mom took Shea to a teaching store on the way home and Shea told her she just had to have a certain toy. So my Mom caved in and bought it for her. Sucker!

Saturday night it was Matt's Dad's birthday party. He is 80 years old. Oh wait just 58! Hee hee hee! We went to a time share that they have and swam in the pool. The waterslide ended up being closed but NOTHING stops our family. Needless to say they opened it back up for us and the kids had a great time on it. Craig took Carson down the slide a few times and he loved it. Craig is Carson's "dare devil" buddy! We had a lot of fun that night.

Sunday we went to church. My work called me in the morning to see if I could come in. I thought about it for a while and decided I needed to be with my family and at church. So guess what our lesson was about in sacrament meeting??? "Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy" and "Learning how to let go of certain things that might hold us back".

Boy I think I made the right decision that day. It was just one of those days that you needed to be there and Satan tried to keep me away! In our ward we are having a marriage class each month. These classes have been very beneficial. So between Thursday night's class about "how to deal with challenges in marriage" and Sunday I feel I have gained perspective on some things. Maybe this is why I have insomnia. I am thinking about things too much.

My first Blog Entry

I was very anti-blog when I first heard about them. I didn't want anyone on the internet to just read about my family. When I found out I could make it private I thought I should give it a shot. I have a lot of friends with blogs and it is fun to catch up with them. You also learn more about the person. So here it goes!

We have a new puppy. We think its name is now "INDY". Last week it was Gus, Rosco, Buddy, Puppy, Marley, Harley. The poor thing is so confused. Indy has stopped biting a bit and I am not cleaning as much pee on my carpet this week. Matt taught him how to sit. Now instead of running like mad for the couches or stairs Shea and Carson say, "Sit, sit, sit." Indy does pretty good. He's still semi-clueless. Carson is still a little weary of him yet tries to make Indy his wrestle buddy and Indy doesn't understand yet and just nips at him. (Oh no, this is not good. I am just rambling now!)

A funny thing Shea did yesterday...
I went upstairs and Matt said "Shea peed on the carpet!" She said "Sorry mom." I asked " Were you trying to stand up like Carson and Daddy when they pee and it didn't work?" She said "YES!" How funny! Matt has been teaching Carson to stand so Shea came up with the idea that boys pee standing up and she wanted to try it. That reminds me I need to wash the rug!!!
