It Made Me Laugh!!
So I told her I could go with him. Here the thing. He only speaks Spanish. So we are in the elevator going down from floor two to one. As we hit the first floor the elevator door open ever so slightly then start pulsing. WE ARE STUCK!! This has never happened before. I just started laughing. Then I look over at the poor guy and he is pressed up against the side of the elevator. I try and say its okay but he is to scared and doesn't understand me. So I JUMPED up and down a few times and the door finally opened.
He ran off the elevator. I just patted his back to try and calm him. He grabbed his heart and made the motion that he was scared. He then left. I was just dying. That has NEVER happened and it has to happen when he is on the elevator. So I ran upstairs and I told his wife. We were all laughing.
AHHHH! Good Times at another's expense!

Happy Father's Day
So this is two days late but I don't feel Matt had a proper Father's Day so hear is a tribute to him. BTW Matt edits my blog sometimes and adds funny little tidbits. So most of the funny things in my blog are his doing.
Our top twenty reasons why Matthew is the best father and husband!
1)He allows me to be me. I feel like we are equals in out relationship and we help each other out. If we do fight it is over within a couple of minutes.
2)He works very hard for out family and he never complains about getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning and not coming home till 5 or 6 at night.
3)When he comes home from work he does not plop himself on the couch. He throws the kids up in the air and runs outside to play with them. Once in a while he takes a quick cat nap but I guess that is allowed every once and a while!
4)He helps me clean. When I go to work at night I always come home to a clean kitchen and family room.
5)He is very supportive of me working. He has never complained about being with the kids while I am gone. This has given him the opportunity to care for them and to know them on another level.
6)He puts the kids to sleep at night. He does funny things with Carson's "blue dog" and Carson just cracks up.
7)He reads to both kids and is helping Shea learn how to read.
8)He rubs my feet without me asking.
9)Everyone in my family enjoys him more than me. He is always cracking them up.
10)He is very funny and there is never a dull moment in the house. If there is Matt is there being funny to lighten the mood.
11)He loves sports. He loves BYU. I love how passionate he gets but have to calm him sometime when the team isn't winning.
12)He leaves me notes in the morning that say "I love you", "Thanks for cleaning" and other sayings.
13)He doesn't expect dinner on the table. He would rather eat Mac and Cheese with hot dogs. He picks up dinner for us on his way home or we make something together at home. Once in a while I will cook and he enjoys it most of the time!
14)He can eat and eat without gaining weight. I do envy him for this. But he has been very dedicated to working out at least two to three times a week since we have been married. It is his stress relief and I am happy he can do it.
15)Shea says "she loves to snuggle with him." She wakes him up at night and says "Daddy come snuggle with me in my bed." He does.
16)Shea loves how daddy plays on the trampoline and outside with her and he makes good food for us. He also takes us to Jamba juice after he works out on the weekend when mommy is sleeping.
17)We loves to spend time at home watching movies on the weekends. He loves q-tips and has to have them even when we are on vacation!
18)He gets up with the kids and the dog at night because he know if I get up I wont be able to go back to sleep.
19)He is dedicated to the church and his calling.
20)He is handsome, loving, compassionate, patient, quirky, funny, helpful, dedicated, hard working, a peacemaker and my best friend.
I am probably forgetting a lot but we just love him so much!! Happy Father's Day Babe!

Summer Vacation 2008
On Monday we went shopping. It is hard to go shopping with me because of my kids and the fits they tend to have but hopefully my mom and sister still love me. We went to some outlet stores but had to skip the Coach outlet store because Carson was throwing a fit. That was not good for me but good for the wallet. We also went to the M&M store next to the MGM Grand Hotel. Later that night we went to P.F. Chang's and afterward crossed the street to catch the Bellagio water show.
Tuesday we got up and took the kids swimming and then headed for California. We stayed at my Grandma's house in Winchester (Near Temecula). I had never been there. She has a chihuahua named Zoe. Shea loved it and Carson tried to ride it. We had a good visit with her. That night we met my Aunt Brenda and Uncle Sebastian and their four kids at a Mexican restaurant. I wish we lived closer to them because our kids get along so good and they could play more often.
Wednesday was Shea's fifth birthday. Where has the time gone??? My Grandma made eggs for us and gave Shea a birthday present: Two Barbie bracelets and a necklace. Shea just loves them. We then headed for LegoLand. Sidenote: Before we went on vacation we bought a Garmin GPS unit. It was our definitely our trip lifesaver! It saved us from fighting about which way to go.
Back to blocks: Legoland was fun and I would recommend it to families who have little kids especially if those kids aren't used to big, fast rides. The park never got busy. We got there at 10:00am when it opened. We were done with everything by about 3:00pm. The park didn't close until 5:00pm so we let them play on the water park pirate ship they had there. Carson and Shea loved it except for the cool breeze when they got out. "Argg, I froze me booty!!!"
We went back to my Grandma's house that night and had dinner. She bought a cake for Shea and as she was bringing it in the house the cake fell sideways on the door frame and then landed on the ground. It was so funny. When we sang to Shea the cake was tipped to the side with jacked up candles but still edible. She was so embarrassed and is probably mad I am writing about this. Sorry Granny!
Thursday we went to my cousin Emily's house to see her new baby. Her house is on about a acre or more of land and they are putting in a new pool. I meet her fiance, Leon, and he was very handsome and nice. I have to say that I am jealous of her new closet addition to her house but also all of the cute shoes and purses she had lined up. Her baby, Orrin, is also so cute and laid back. After the visit we headed up to Newport Beach and stayed at the Marriott there. We hung out by the pool and went to get Olive Garden "To Go" because we knew Carson would not sit in another restaurant.
Friday we got up and went to Newport Pier and the beach there. We stayed, frolicked, etc. for about three hours. We went back to the hotel, swam in the hotel pool washing off all our sand in the precious water there, and then took a two-hour nap. You didn't read that last part. Hee hee hee. We then headed for Fashion Island, a shopping center in Newport Beach. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory. Half way though our meal I started shaking and feeling really cold. I did not feel well. I think I got sun poising. I didn't put sunscreen on at the beach and I got fried. What do I expect? We went and walked around the Newport Beach Temple. We then headed back to the hotel and Matt and the kids swam while I read my book HOST. Matt ordered a brownie ice cream sundae for us and brought it back up to the room. It was gone within seconds.
Saturday we went to Laguna Beach (Aliso Beach). I had asked Carson if he wanted to go to the beach and he said "No, too messy." He still has a problem because he loves to suck his thumb and when we go to the beach it gets all sandy and it makes him mad. This beach we went to had a play ground and nicer sand. I spent most of the time with Carson at the playground and playing in the sand. Did I mention how cold Cali was? Now I wish I enjoyed the weather more because it is so HOT here! After the beach we went back to the hotel and took a nap. We went to Downtown Disney and walked around that night. Carson and Shea danced to some street performer music. Classic! We came back that night and swam. Matt ordered yet another ice cream sundae. It was good!!
Sunday we decided to go home. We were thinking about staying until Monday but I think the kids were "vacationed out". I kind of hit the wall too. The drive back was good. The bad thing about vacation is how bad/much you eat. If I see another McDonald's I am going to "McHurl"!
We had a great time! I am going to add more pictures on another post.

"PEAL"
We took Indy on a walk today to the park behind our house. Carson wanted to walk him. Carson keep saying, "Peal, Peal!" I realized he was trying to say, "Heal". That word is what we are using to train Indy on his leash. I thought it was funny. Same sound but different word.

The last week of May 2008
We have been trying to sell Matt's truck because he has to get a new one every four years because of his car allowance. We decided to sell it now before it hit 100,000 miles. So we showed the truck to some people that night and they wanted it. Then later that night they called and said that they were bankrupt and the bank was going to take their house. We just laughed. Who does that? I obsess over every big purchase and would know if I had no money. Oh well!
On Tuesday I went visiting teaching and then to the DMV to figure things out with the truck. That is a real treat to wait at the DMV. (Matt owes me one!) My work called to see if I could work and I told them only until 1:00am. I am up anyway... might as well make money to pay for my hair!
Wednesday I had a lunch potluck at my house for one of my friends, Tonya, that is moving out of state. We served together in Enrichment and she taught me so much. The lunch turned out great. We had about 17 people there with about 15 kids. The kids were all great and my house was basically still clean when they left. Shea just loves it when kids come over to play. That night I took Shea to dance. After that I picked up Matt at Desert Schools Credit Union. He sold his truck to a kid who idd not even test-drive it!!!! I wanted to tell the kid, "Do you really know what you are doing buying a truck with 91k miles and with the price of gas?" but I just kept my mouth shut!
Thursday I didn't have a car so I took the kids to the park in my bike with the trailer attachment. They love doing this. We also took Indy with us. We all took a nap later in the day because I had to work that night.
Friday my mom came over and watched the kids while I slept. I think I got 3 1/2 hours which was just perfect for me! When Matt got home we went and bought a new truck. Now I have been doing research for about three months so it wasn't as easy at it sounded. By the end of the night I was exhausted. We went to Caramba's for dinner. Our favorite place to eat and the only place on Earth where gas is free! Hee Hee!
Saturday I went to work from 7am to 1pm. It was weird to work during the day. They needed some help so I thought it would be good to go so I can help pay for our upcoming vacation. When I got home I worked on R.S stuff for about two hours while Matt and the kids took a nap. We then went to our neighborhood block party. We went to Chili's and Target afterwards then put the kids down and started to watch National Treasure II. Matt said I fell asleep in the first five minutes. It either means the movie was boring or I was extremely tired. Carson sportin' a cheezer on the pony
Sunday we went to church and hung out at the house. It was Tonya and Rob's last Sunday and I was so emotional about it. He reminds me of my brother and she is just so awesome. We will miss them.
So I guess looking back I did accomplish things this week.
