Pictures To Scrapbook (but I never will)

On Sunday morning Shea drew a picture of our family. We told her she forgot the baby. Look where she put the baby! She is so smart!

This is the evidence that Carson will rub any one's toes. We were at my parents house on Sunday and he took off my mom's sandal and started to suck his thumb and rub his toes. It is so gross to me. I hate FEET!! He eventually ended up at her fingers with her acrylic nails.
I just noticed my mom's face. She is not fazed by this at all. She is used to it.

Here is a picture of Matt's dinner tonight. He said he had a late lunch and would have something later. So all you wives out there that have to have meals on the table every night you can be jealous of me! This is Matt's ideal dinner. PB&J, chips and Vienna sausage. (so gross!) Very nutritious.
At least he drank water and had multi grain bread!

Carson

Here is an update on Carsie Boy!
The Sunday before school started we got home from church about 3:15. I thought that if I didn't put him down for a nap that they could both go to bed early. Shea and Carson were playing on the computer. I guess she left him and fell asleep. What bad parents we are. We didn't notice for about a half an hour. OOPS! But cute pictures.

In this picture Carson is dipping his cookie in his orange juice. He must be feeling my cravings. I am weird like that and like to dip things in weird stuff. I passed on to Shea and now Carson. He is such a picky eater lately. The other night I gave him dinner and he said "NO, try again!" Matt told me that the night before that when I was at work he started to say that to. All he wants to eat now is Orange juice, soup and rice (mushroom soup with rice in it) sponge bob macaroni, pancakes and cereal. arg! I hope he gets over this soon!

Carson also sucks his thumb like Shea. Both of my kids rub the nails of the other hand that is free. Carson just took it to the next level by rubbing toe nails to. He will take off his shoes, suck his thumb and rub his big toe. If you have your shoes off he will go to you and lay down to suck his thumb and rub your toe. Now at night he asks for our thumbs. He rubs our thumbs until he gets to tired and then falls asleep. Sometimes it is so annoying to our thumbs to be rubbed but I think it is a funny quirk he has.

We also taught him to say his name. He says Tarson T. Pribyl in his way of talking. It is so cute!

Where did my little girl go?

Shea's first week of Kindergarten was last week. She did so good. Everyone kept asking how I did and I said that I am just sad I have to get up so early now. How selfish of me! hehe. We usually slept in till 8:30 or 9:00. So we have been adjusting our routine. It is nice to get her to bed by 8 or 8:30. I feel like last week was so long! When she would get home Carson would ask "Shea play computer." She said "NO!" He would run downstairs and tell me "Shea say no!" I told him to let her rest and then she would play with him.

There has been less fighting and when she does get home she plays with him. She has been really good about getting up except for Friday. I got her up and she yelled "I DON'T WANT TO DO MY HAIR." I told myself I have to be calm with her so she doesn't get upset before school. So I took her downstairs to do her hair in front of the TV. After I was done she wanted to lay on the couch and couldn't. She yelled again " Mom, you are the worst hairdoer in whole world." I thinking oh no she didn't just say that! So I ignored her and she yelled "MOM!" I turned to her and said "Shea you are hurting my feelings right now. I would like you to go to the table and eat while I got get dressed." That was it. After I came down she asked me why I didn't tell her she was going to Kindergarten today and that it was Fun Friday!.

Later on Friday night I said something to her and she told me that I was hurting her feelings. At least she understood my point. I am not going to let her walk all over me I just need to learn to correct her in a more non confrontational way!

So all is well. We are adjusting to our new schedule.

Bryce Canyon: Days Three, Four and Five

On Friday we got up and had breakfast burritos in the common area where we all meet. Then we went hiking in Bryce Canyon. We went with a big group. The trail was called the Navajo Loop and was only supposed to be 1.6 miles. No biggie. So we start hiking down switch backs and it was so beautiful. We had Shea and Carson with us to. Carson just loved it. He loved the rocks and caves. He kept saying it was like Diego. So we get down the switch backs and start walking on a more flat surface. Shea started to get tired. I think it was probably a mile into it. We stoped and had a snack. Everyone else took off and went a different direction which was about 3miles. Yea right with kids no way! So Krista stayed back with us because by this time we just wanted to get out. Matt carried Carson on his shoulders and I started to carry Shea. We had to go back up a different set of switch backs. I told Shea I couldn't carry her anymore and she started to cry. I said "lets sing a song or count to one hundred" She went for that. We counted to two hundred while we walked and by that time we were up the mountain. I told her "see what you can do when you put your mind to it!" She was so excited that she had climbed the mountain.

After that we went to the main lodge in Bryce Canyon and ate the picnic that I had packed. It was so nice outside. We had a couple chipmunks come up to us and want out food. We went back to the hotel and went across the street where they had some country stores. Shea and Carson got to sit and ride a horse for about 5 min. They had fun. Then it was back to the rooms to take a nap!! Matt's favorite part of the day. For dinner that night we had pulled pork and beans. Then we gathered in the conference room and had a big family home evening. I had made a slide show for everyone. I think eveyone liked it. It was about 26 min. long and had around 500 pictures in it. It was fun to watch with eveyone. After that we had a lesson on attitudes and had a very spititual testimony meeting. Later that night I was able to play cards with Matt's sisters. I had a lot of fun.

On Saturday we went and walked around Bryce Canyon again. Shea made sure that we were not going hiking again! Matt and I went and got Subway and I made the kids PB& J and we had another picnic. The kids gathered about 2:00 for crafts. Shea and Carson had so much fun with this. That night Matt and I ate in a little resturant by the hotel and had pizza. We all went to a rodeo. The annoucer asked where everyone was from and only about 20% of the audience was from the USA. This would explain all the women dressed in dresses and high heels for the rodeo. I was excited to dress down but they dressed up! I felt so sick that night and I was trying to put on a good game face. The best thing at the rodeo was when the called the kids down into the staduim and relesed bunnies for them to try and catch. It was so funny. Elias Bryce's son caught one. They put it in a box and told his that he had to take it home. He was so excited. Bryce ended up giving it back. That night they had fireworks about 10:00pm and we could see it from the balcony of our rooms. I went to play cards agian but felt sick so I went home and threw up (TMI).

The next day was Sunday and we basically packed and left. We were able to say goodbye to Matt's grandparents before we left. We stopped at my uncle Rick's house in Flagstaff on our way home. My cousin needed to give me my maturnity clothes I let her borrow. We then went to Tutu and Papa's house because my mom said that they had changed it alot. I still expect Tutu to be looking through the blinds when we pull up and papa to be walking out to us. It is sad walking into the house but everytime I go there it gets a little eaiser. We then left and stoped by my parents house to get Indy. They said he was good but I don't believe them.

Whew that was our trip. I would recomend Bryce Canyon to anyone. We had fun and the weather was soooo nice. \
