Havasupai June 2009

In June we went with friends and my sister Laura down the Grand Canyon to the Havasupai village. Kevin and Pamela watched Lacey and Shea. I was a bit nervous just because I didn't want Lacey to give them a run for their money. They said she was an angel and they gave her a new nickname of "squishy". Carson went to Ben and Rachel's house for a night. I heard that Aubrie was his little mom for the night. He then went to mom and dad's house for the rest of the weekend. Thanks to all who helped take care of them and allowing us to get out.

We hiked roughly 13 miles the first day and 6 miles the next walking around to the falls. We stayed in the lodge at the village. No TV and no phones. I did find Internet access to where I could facebook my sis-in-law to see if the kids were okay. I have never slept so good since Lacey was born.
Matt really was done hiking the next day so we took the helicopter out. I was having anxiety and said that Matt and I couldn't be on the helicopter together because then our kids would lose both of us. But Laura and I couldn't be on the helicopter together because then my parents would lose both of us. BUT Laura and Matt couldn't be on the helicopter together because I would lose my husband and sister. See the pattern. So cheesy enough I told them I would have to pray about it. The next day I felt perfectly fine. We all took the same helicopter out. And we are alive. BTW I haven't exercised since oops!!

My sweet little boy

Today I actually got up and straitened my hair instead of put it in a pony tail. It is to hot to keep it down. So Carson comes into my bathroom and says "Mommy your hair is beautiful!" Aha so sweet. For Shea's birthday we went to the mall. Carson didn't want the usual to eat so I suggested a meat sandwich. He said "Yes!" very excited. So I got him a turkey sandwich from Subway. I asked him if he liked his meat sandwich and he said "Yes mommy you are a genius!" He makes me feel so smart!

No more Kindergarten!

Shea's had her Kindergarten end of the year picnic a couple days before school ended. Rachel my sister-in-law came all the way over to our house to watch Carson and Lacey for me. It really helped me a lot and it gave Carson, Ethan and Sophia a chance to play together. Matt couldn't make it he flew out to Texas for business. He ended up getting stuck there an extra night because the plane was having mechanical problems. So I was alone for three nights. Ugh! By the time he got home I was exhausted. I even skipped enrichment because I was so tired and hadn't seen Matt all week. Plus I was working Friday and Sunday night.
When I picked up Shea on the last day of school she said a lot of kids were crying. I asked if she cried and she said "No, why would I cry." Well later that night the water works came and she was very sad. I can't believe she is going to be in 1st grade!

I was very happy for school to be over. I have been able to sleep in a little more. But I still feel so tired.

Father and Son's Camping Trip!

This year was the first year Matt took Carson on the Father and Son's Camping Trip. Shea was really upset because she wanted to go camping. I told her she could do whatever she wanted. So she wanted to go spend the night at Grandma Richardson's house. So Lacey, Shea and I spent the night at my parents house. The next morning my dad and I hiked Thunderbird Mountain. I smoked my dad. Usually he smokes me up the mountain. Sorry dad I guess we need to do that more often.

Back to the camping trip. I don't feel like it was a huge brake for me because I had to pack everything. And I mean everything. Matt just came home from work. picked up Carson and his friend Tom and went camping. What a good packer I am and wife and mother! I hear Carson only ate chocolate doughnuts the whole time.

I was a little perplexed by the next pictures. Why was Matt allowing Carson to play with the tailgate on his truck. I guy what happens at the Fathers and Son's Camp out should stay at the Fathers and Son's Camp out!

Catch up time!

Shea and I went to my niece's 10th Birthday Party back in May. The party was at the place where Madi takes gymnastics. Shea had a lot of fun!! The blue squishy foam things looked so fun to jump in. So I did. And I got STUCK! My brother Kevin was filming me the whole time trying to get out. I have never felt so big in my life. Plus I had a skirt on and that didn't help the problem. I haven't seen the video yet but I am sure he is keeping it for black male!! Happy Birthday Madi we loved spending the day with you!




Pamela spent all day on this awesome cake. It was eaten within 5 minutes.
