Spring for Charity Pictures

Spring for Charity Pictures

Shea loved the baby chicks.

Carson didn't enjoy them as much. Right after this picture was taken he chucked the chick. The chick was fine.

Lacey loved the chicks. She just watched them. She loved it so much she had to squeeze it! The chick was fine! AND YES, her hair is that blonde!! My hair and Matt's hair was that color when we were babies!

Last Week of April

This last week we were busy (like all weeks). I had my presidency meeting on Monday. Shea had dance on Monday night. Both Shea and Carson had swim lessons this week. Tuesday, we went to the zoo, Shea had danced and I worked till about 10:00. The hospital wasn't busy so I got sent home. This gave me time to prepare for my lesson on Sunday. Friday we went to the temple open house. It was busy but with all good things!

Tuesday were able to go to the Wildlife Zoo with Carson's pre-school. His teacher Mrs. Barb was able to get a great deal for the group. Jody came with me. I think Jody would go to the zoo everyday if she could. We even discussed her changing careers but nursing pays more! :) So she will just volunteer for now. Maybe! She was able to take Carson on the sky ride. Lacey loved the birds and fish. She kept saying, "FISHHHHHHHHH" I think she learned "FISHHHH" from my mom's fishtank on facebook. I don't think the giraffe liked Jody. She wasn't tall enough to feed him. BUT I was!! The next day Carson said, "Mom that was a great field trip yesterday!"

Shea's tooth was hanging from a thread. She would not let me pull it out! Finally Matt pinned her down, tickled her and pulled it out real fast.

Gilla Valley Temple Trip

We went to the Gila Valley Temple Open House. We left Friday about 9:30am. We were able to stop at the hospital where my brother and his wife just had their fourth baby. How convenient for us!! Congratulations Kevin and Pam! Kyler Jack Richardson is Magnificent!!!

The drive to the temple reminded me alot of driving to Utah. It was windy and cold. We stayed at a Springhill Suites that was located in Thatcher 5 min. east of the temple. We checked in then headed over to the open house. The open house started at the meetinghouse right next to the temple. They showed a video of the purpose and history of the Gilla Valley Temple. Carson and Lacey weren't having it so I took them out where the kind volunteers gave Carson two cookies. That settled him down. He even shared with Lacey and she said "Tank" and gave the sign language for thank you.

The temple was beautiful inside. The kids behaved and we could really feel a great spirit in there. After the tour we went back to the church for cookies and water. Then went to take pictures in front of the temple. After we left we decided to drive through the towns. Lacey finally fell asleep for the first time during the trip. This was at 4:00.

I wanted to find a restaurant to eat at. We drove through Thatcher and Saford's main road....NOTHING!! So we had to resort to eat at the Denny's by our hotel. I am feeling queasy just writing about it!!

Back at the hotel we swam. The kids and Matt and I were extra tired. We finally turned off the lights at 8:00 to just GO TO BED!!! Poor Lacey wouldn't sleep in the pack n play and she slept in between Matt and I. She was tossing and turning all night! At 7am we woke up to Carson trying to wake up Shea and Lacey at the foot of our bed turned around.

It was a fun turn around trip and the drive only took about 3 1/2 hours. I am so glad I got to share this with my kids. Especially Shea because I think she was able to understand the temple better and what being married in the temple meant.
