December
So far in December I attended a Relief Society Christmas Dinner then our Ward Party. Which were both very fun and spiritul. I taught a lesson about Mary and how to remember to ponder Christ's birth. Got a little worn out and took a time out for two days. Those days were "pajama day" for Carson and Lacey. They loved it! On Saturday we meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Pribyl to exchange Christmas gifts. I hosted my work party at my parents house. Attended a fun BIKE ride party to see Christmas lights and eat yummy soup!
The best part of December so far has been our Family Home Evenings. One night at work I was talking with a LDS coworker and asked her about her family traditions. I told her I really wanted to teach my kids the true meaning of Christmas. She gave me the idea to read the Christmas story every week. I thought how easy is that.
I went to the Deseret Bookstore and found a book titled "A Christ Centered Christmas" by Emily Freeman. In the book she talks about her desire to have a Christ centered Christmas. She suggest to take each week and talk about each piece of the nativity. She also gives suggestions on what questions to ask your kids and yourself about each piece. The kids love it. It has set a wonderful tone in our house.
The first lesson was on Mary and to really take time to ponder the true meaning of Christmas. My kids all week were singing a church song. I don't know the title but the song starts with Mary Mary hush to the child. Shea and Carson take turns signing the parts and then sing the chorus together. I am grateful to Beth Mortensen their music leader in primary for teaching them this song.
The next lesson we talked about Joseph. The theme was service. The book suggested to do small acts of service for each other and then leave a bell on the pillow of the person you did the service for. I cleaned Shea's room for her on Tuesday and put light up and hanging ornaments. I left the bell on her pillow. She thanked me for making her room so pretty. Shea then ran to Carson's room and cleaned it and left the bell on his pillow. He came to me saying he did not know what/ or how to do a service. Two days later he came to me in the morning and said, "I cleaned Lacey's room. It was getting messy." He left the bell in her crib. It almost made me cry. He GOT IT! I didn't tell him what to do. He just followed Shea's example.
Last week we talked about the Angels and how to be an Angel for someone. We then completed a Angel project.
This week we talked about the Shepard's and how they came with haste. We turned off the lights and sat in a circle. We each held a candle and shared our testimony. The kids were short and sweet but you could feel the spirit.
This project has set a wonderful tone in our house. I want the kids to have the excitement of presents, Santa and giving but I also want us to always remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Here are a few December pictures.
I love my glitter Joy creation!

November FHE
In November we had a family home evening on being Grateful and Thanksgiving. We all colored and cut out these turkeys. Courtesy of my mom Kindergarten school stash. Then we lined them up the stairs all month. Once in a while Lacey would go up to them and kiss them!

Suns Game
Back in November one of Matt's vendor game him Suns tickets so he decided to take the kids. They LOVED IT! Shea made a sign and held it up most the night. Carson was so into the game. He loved watching the suns win points and cheered the whole night. Lulu loved it to! We had the whole row to ourselves. We ate pizza and popcorn! The kids were so well behaved and we had no meltdowns! IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!
